The Transparency Act
Jensen & Co has carried out thorough due diligence assessments in accordance with the Transparency Act. As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, we have prepared a statement that documents our areas of effort and results.
The report provides an insight into our due diligence assessments, which deal with various aspects of our business, including the supply chain. We have evaluated risks, implemented measures and worked closely with our partners to ensure sustainable practices and respect for human rights.
We invite you to read our statement, which is available as a PDF file. We encourage you to explore our efforts and commitment to responsible business.
We appreciate your interest and look forward to continuing the dialogue about our sustainability journey. If you have questions, feedback or would like to discuss our work further, you are welcome to contact us.
Thank you for being part of our journey towards a more responsible and sustainable future.
Environmental Lighthouse
We are proud to be Environmental Lighthouse certified, a recognized certification that confirms our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The certification means that we meet strict requirements within the working environment, energy consumption, waste management, purchasing and transportation. Through concrete measures, we continuously work to reduce our environmental impact and operate our business in a more sustainable way. Environmental Lighthouse also gives us tools to report on our environmental results and create improvements year after year. This is part of our long-term efforts to operate more sustainably and reduce our environmental impact. We are committed to continuing development and collaborating with our partners and customers to create a more sustainable future.
We have chosen to focus on five of the UN Sustainable Development Goals that are particularly relevant to our business and where we can contribute the most. Through our work on Goals 3 (Good Health and Quality of Life), 5 (Gender Equality), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), 13 (Climate Action) and 15 (Life on Land), we are committing to concrete actions that promote sustainability in our products, processes and collaborations. These goals give us a clear direction to integrate sustainability into everything we do, while taking responsibility for people, the environment and future generations.
Food waste
The food industry has a responsibility to reduce its environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future. Food waste constitutes a significant part of the industry's greenhouse gas emissions, and reducing food waste is therefore a key priority for us. As part of this effort, we have signed the industry agreement with Matvett, and we are working to label all our products that have a best-before date with 'best before, often good after', to reduce unnecessary food waste. In addition, we donate goods that cannot be sold, for example due to transport damage, to organizations such as Matsentralen. We also collaborate with companies such as Holdbart and Havaristen to ensure that goods with a short shelf life can be resold instead of being thrown away. Through these measures and collaboration with suppliers and customers, we want to contribute to lower emissions and a more sustainable food industry.
Tree planting through Trefadder
We climate compensate through tree planting in Norway in Trefadder's climate forests. This provides a CO2 capture guarantee that contributes to a better environment, while creating local jobs. Our climate contribution is certified, and you can actually visit "our" climate forest. We plant trees based on our emissions from daily operations (scope 1) including travel activities. At the same time, we are continuously working to reduce our emissions. As an environmental lighthouse certified company, we are also mapping the possibility of compensating beyond scope 1 in the future.
